On an island of haves and have-nots, teenager John B enlists his three best friends to hunt for a legendary treasure linked to his father’s disappearance… Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, and their “OBX” co-stars quiz each other on the best lines from their popular Netflix series. It was filmed on location in Charleston, South Carolina; it was originally supposed to be filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina. This show is ridiculously unrealistic, but to be honest, I don’t even care.
But still, it’s nothing new
It’s obviously not supposed to be the most serious show ever, so I totally agree that it’s completely over the top. The lead actors are very cute to look at and do a pretty decent job with their performances (nothing exceptional, of course). The actors are definitely too old for the roles they’re playing; until Sarah said she was only 16, I wasn’t sure how old they were supposed to be.
Edit: After finishing the show, I can’t wait for season 2
Casting age-appropriate actors is really hard, so I can’t deduct points for that. I haven’t completely finished it yet, but so far it’s been fun, fast-paced, and enjoyable. It’s gotten SO much better with each episode and honestly, by the end it felt like a really high-quality production and is a great setup for a potential second season.
Netflix, you did it again!
What impressed me the most was how well the dialogue was written, it was so believable. If you can get past the fact that they don’t look like sixteen-year-olds, they definitely act like a bunch of stupid sixteen-year-olds. The new season of “Silo” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres of this month.
