What a loathsome piece of crap brother-in-law John Paul is (a very effective performance by Claes Bang). There’s always one of those nasty, horrible types in the family.

I want to be a part of this wonderful, twisted family

So watching the sisters plan and execute Jean Paul’s death is a real treat in the most gruesome way! The magic is in the relationship between the sisters, which is so real, in the way they care for each other and banter with each other convincingly.

As an added bonus, the clumsy insurance stepsisters add entertainment value as they try to solve the mystery case. I haven’t seen the Belgian version, but this British remake looks like it’ll hold its own, thanks to the acting, the entertaining direction and the script, which has so much to offer after the first two episodes that it totally gets you.
